Our Team

Our team from Bayahibe Guesthouse is - almost like our guests - quite international. With the owners Christian from Germany and Gladys Venezuela we complete our team with two lovely Dominican ladies Alejandra and Sandy and the Haitian all-rounder Titika.

Alejandra and Sandy from our Housekeeping Team and are the angels behind the scene. They’re not only taking care of all the rooms and apartments and keep them clean and tidy, they also help out with check in’s, answering questions and so much more. Especially when it comes to special questions about Bayahibe or the Dominican Republic are these two ladies our jokers.

We call Titika our good soul as he is always there when needed. He serves as gardener, caretaker, night warden / night manager and general helping hand in the hotel and the apartments.

You should also get to know our “highly” protective guarding dog named Loca. Loca is the Spanish word for crazy. And in fact, as a former street dog she might have some secrets, but now with us and our guests she is the loveliest dog you could imagine. If you pet her, she might even forget that she is on duty and will just be the lovely and obligatory property dog.

Our Service

The Caribbean way of life meets the European way to get things done. This quote reflects perfectly the kind of service we offer to all our guests. With German thoroughness we try to deliver individual and personal service to every guest who is in need of something or just want to have information.

Our reception is 24/7 open, during the day Christian or Gladys will help you with any inquiry and if they are not around, one of the team members will be glad to assist. During the night, Titika is occupying the reception and serves as well as night warden at the entrance.

In the Caribbean way of life it can happen that the village runs out of water, however, for your convenience we have our own cistern on the property and can always guarantee a sufficient supply of water.

We also provide a custom map of Bayahibe which is available for downloading here or can be found as a printed copy at the reception.

All our rooms are equipped with a coffee machine and a starter kit of coffee, so you can enjoy a cup of fresh brewed Dominican coffee after your first night and whenever you wish.

Bayahibe Guesthouse doesn’t offer breakfast but if you stay with us, our partner Cafe La Marina offers a 10% discount to our guests. Less than a 5 minutes’ walk away and directly at the waterfront you can enjoy a delicious breakfast with coffee, eggs, cakes, croissants and so much more.

You might already know that Bayahibe is not only the gateway to the famous island Saona, but also offers various dive spots and other activities. We are happy to assist you with all kind of excursions and activities. So please, don’t hesitate to ask, we can point you in the right direction and get you in touch with our partner companies.

Our Hotel & Apartments

Bayahibe Guesthouse - Hotel and Apartments exist in its present constellation since November 2015. All began at the beginning of 2015 when Christian bought the apartment guesthouse right in the centre of the cosy village Bayahibe. He renovated the three apartments with his love for details and equipped them with a modern and clean upper standard interior.

After the apartments received an overwhelming response from the guests and in order to meet the increasing demand for available and affordable sleeping possibilities they decided to expand the business. So only 10 months later and after a lot of work they opened the hotel as addition to apartments.

As well the hotel was totally renovated and partly built new and the interior was adapted to the style of the already existing apartments. The hotel now has six double rooms and one small extra apartment.

With its centred location and a lot of green in and around the properties, the Bayahibe Guesthouse is the perfect and quiet getaway spot for having relaxed holidays in the Caribbean without needing any additional transportation in the closer surrounding.

We are a family owned and operated small Hotel and Apartment Guesthouse in the charming fishing village Bayahibe on the Caribbean South Coast of the Dominican Republic.

The owner, Christian Müller, decided once that he not only wants to live in the Caribbean, he also wants to share this little paradise with guests from all over the world. So Christian the studied mechanical engineer from Germany took over the company from his father and expanded it to what it is today. One of Christian`s main concerns is to provide his guest an unforgettable holiday and is therefore still totally involved as main operator, receptionist, concierge, handyman etc.

He brings his German roots and his way of running Bayahibe Guesthouse with him and this ensures constant quality, efficiency and at all times good vibes in our guesthouse. At his side and functioning as his left and right hand is Gladys Gomez from Venezuela. The former Dentist is the good soul in the hotel and adds her distinctive Latin charm and hospitality to it.

Christian and Gladys have been living in Bayahibe for a couple of years and love to answer you every question about Bayahibe, its surroundings and the Dominican culture.
